Significant Social Contributions of Radio Annapurna 93.4 MHz

• Immediate broadcasting of news and facts as breaking news and raising public concern and awareness through meaningful discussions and interaction.


• Establishment of a fun in the name of 'Lok Kabi Alimiyan, Lok Sahitya Samrakshan Kosh' with the collection of Rs. 1 Lakh which has been handed over for proper use the the 'Alimian Bangmaya Pratishthan'.


• Distributed support materials as cash, commodities clothes by collecting from it listerners to the flood victims of worst affected areas like Arman, Baranja, Bahiyachaur and other in the first week of Sharwan 2058 BS in Myagdi District and paid a visit to the area or places affected by flood.


• Distributed support materials to the flood victims of various places of Gorakha, Tanahu, Kaski and Nawalparasi in 2060 BS.


• Programme of HIV infected and Drug addicts in collaboration with the various NGO and INGOs to provide them encouragement and to build up a positive regards life and create a public awareness and interest in the civil society so that the users existence as accepted and realized respectfully.


• Provided a sun of Rs. 57 thousand by collecting from the radio AFM listeners to Chhapkali Maya Tamang from Makawanpur District, who is a HIV positive, had been sold to Mumbai for ill fate by her own relative after she had expressed her wish to run a programme called 'Self-help group, Makawanpur', but was unable to do it due to lack of a fund. The radio AFM took initiation not only to encourage her but to develop public awareness for such a programme by HIV positige for the HIV infected.


• Jivani Nagila a 15 years old girl from Vyash Municipality, Tanahu who was suffering from a cute nefronities as both of her Kidneys were failed, provided a financial help worth Rs. 82,550.00 by collecting from the listeners and well wishers. Previously, she couldn't get treatment because of poor economic condition. Now she is gaining better heath.


• Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a kind of cancer disease seized a youth Mr. Sanjaya Lamsal from chinnebas, Syangja fine was collected and delivered a financial support worth Rs. 23 thousand. His Condition is getting better, it has been learnt.


• It was for the first time in the mofasals (out of capital), Radio Annapurna fixed a royalty of Rs. 3.00 for a song played each time to encourage the singers, lyricists and musicians and has been distributed to the artists in honor of their work since 2058. This has been highly appreciated by all concerned.


• The radio has been organizing blood donation programme annually6 in the month of Chaitra when the scarcity of blood deposit in the blood bank is seen. In order to fulfill this need, the radio conducts such a programme once in a year creating public consciousness and interest. • 4. A promoting campaign title as "Artist of the month" has been launched each month in orders to promote an artist and this creation (song, music etc.).
